The Tour Claret Jug - 2025 winner: Nigel Dowdall
This year the Aer0 GS will be visiting Shropshire, a new adventure for the Society, but an area with a good selection of excellent quality golf courses.
We will be staying for three nights at the Valley Hotel in Ironbridge (Valley Hotel) which is ideally placed to access all the venues as well as the town centre where there is a good selection of excellent restaurants. Ironbridge Gorge, with its world famous iron bridge, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is only a ten minute walk from the bridge to the hotel, which is surrounded by parkland and overlooks the River Severn.
As always, the tour will be a thoroughly enjoyable few days away with a mixture of (moderately) competitive golf and great social gatherings in convivial company. There are prizes for every day plus the “Claret Jug” for the overall Tour winner. The package of three nights B&B, four rounds of golf, three evening meals (including a modest amount of wine) and the final lunch is £tbc per person. The 16 places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, but if oversubscribed, the Captain will do his best to try and secure additional slots.
