The Swinley Forest club have informed us that we will only be able to play the planned Greensomes competition after lunch if all players pay the additional charge for the afternoon round, regardless of whether or not they play in the afternoon. The Committee has decided that the event will now be run as 18 holes of individual Stableford in the morning, followed by lunch and the prize-giving.

This is a format we have considered introducing as it has the benefit of allowing more time for us to enjoy an excellent lunch together and for everyone to be present for the prize-giving. We will be playing for the Captain's Claret Jug and the Bill Morris 'Over 70' trophy; the Cavalier Trophy, normally awarded to the winners of the afternoon Greensomes at Swinley, will be re-allocated to one of our events where we currently do not have a trophy for the pairs competition.

Costs for the event are now posted in the Member's section. We still have a few places available, so please sign up for what should be a most enjoyable event and to support new Captain Roger Whitefield as he 'drives in' from the first tee.
