History
In the year of his captaincy Sir Paddy Hine presented this magnificent Claret Jug to the Aero GS to accompany the Captain’s Prize. It is awarded to the winner of the Singles Stableford at the Early Spring Meeting held at Swinley Forest Golf Club. Sir Paddy joined the society in 1964 and was awarded Honorary membership in 1997 before becoming our President in 2012. The Claret Jug replaced the Captain’s Prize for which there was no trophy. The Captain’s Prize was initially a pairs competition but it was changed to a singles competition in 1991.
